Wet Willie Unreleased Songs Lyrics
1.Airport

Lyricist:Anthony John David

My baby came in a a plane last night
I went down to meet her but I had the wrong flight
Yea the man at the desk said that she wasn't due
He said, 'She wouldn't been in for an hour or too'

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
We waited, we waited until I broke
I thought to myself, 'This must be a joke'

I went up to the desk and said, 'Look here man
What time did you say my baby's gonna land?'
Well he looked at his book and he said, 'Hey sport
You got the right plane baby but the wrong airport'

I finally got to see my baby you see
A half an hour later she was laying next to me
She was lookin' real good and she sounded alright
You know my baby knocked me around and she found a fight

Outta sight
No, no, no, no, no, no, no

Erie Canal

-traditional American folk song

I've got a mule and her name is Sal
15 miles on the Erie Canal
She's a good old worker and a good old pal
15 miles on the Erie Canal
We've hauled some barges in our day
Filled with lumber, coal, and hay
And we know every inch of the way
From Albany to Buffalo
BR
BRLow bridge, everybody down
BRLow bridge, for we're comin' to a town
BRAnd you'll always know your neighbor
BRYou'll always know your pal
BRIf you've ever navigated on the Erie Canal
BR
BRYou better get along on your way, old gal
BR15 miles on the Erie Canal
BRYou can bet your life I'd never part with Sal

3.Everything That 'cha Do

Everything That 'Cha Do
Wet Willie

oh depression
got you guessing about the thing that you do

don't you let it
you can bet it
she'll make a fool outa you

when confusion keeps ya loosin'
and you're searchin' for a find

turn this madness
into gladness
keep these words in your mind

everything
that you do
will come back to you

eyes wide open
see the motion
of the problems that go down

you can't stop em
better drop em
don't let em turn you around

when you hear
that voice inside
why don't you let it be your guide

don't you know
you just can't go
wrapped up in your foolish pride

4.Prologue

Prologue

NARRATOR
Once upon a time,
In a far away land,
A young Prince lived in a shining castle.
Although he had everything his heart desired,
the Prince was spoiled, selfish and unkind.

But then, one winter's night,
an old beggar woman came to the castle
and offered him a single rose
in return for shelter from the bitter cold.

Repulsed by her haggard appearance,
the Prince sneered at the Gift,
and turned the old woman away.

But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances,
for Beauty is found within.
And when he dismissed her again,
the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful
enchantress.

The prince tried to apologize,
but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in
his heart.
And as punishment, she transformed him into a hideous beast
and placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived
there.

Ashamed of his monstrous form,
the Beast concealed himself inside his castle,
with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world.

The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose,
which would bloom unitl his twenty-first year.

If he could learn to love another,
and earn their* love in return by the time the last petal fell,
Then the spell would be broken.

If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time.

As the years passed,
he fell into despair and lost all hope,

For who could ever learn to love .... a beast?

(* in the movie, changed to 'her')

6.Weekend

WEEKEND
Wet Willie

One Friday evenin'
What a feelin', feel like singin'
Tired of workin', my mind is buzzin'
Feel like dancin' yes I do

But you gotta make the best of life while you're young
Good people, weekend
Do just what you wanna do, weekend
When those workin' days are through
Weekend, weekend, weekend
Weekend, weekend
You know it's time to get away, weekend
I wanna hear ev'rybody say
Weekend, weekend, weekend

Saturday night feelin' just right
Makin' new friends, lazy Sunday
Every Monday ends my weekend, yes it does
But you gotta make the best of life while you're young
Listen people, weekend
Party down with all your friends, weekend
It's party, hearty time again
Weekend, weekend, weekend
Weekend, weekend
Spendin' all my hard-earned pay, weekend
With crazy nights and lazy days
Weekend, weekend, weekend

But you believe me right now, weekend
Watchin' all the people play, weekend
I wanna hear ev'rybody say
Weekend, weekend, weekend
Weekend, weekend
Do what you wanna do, weekend
When those workin' days are through
Weekend, weekend, weekend
Ah you gotta make the best of life while you're young
Right now, weekend
Do what you wanna do, weekend
When those workin' days are through
Weekend, weekend, weekend
Yeah weekend

7.Baby Fat

Lyricist:Mike Duke, Jack Virgil Jr. Hall, James Robert Hall, Maurice
Richard Hirsch

Come on
Have you heard the news
Talk is goin' around
Let me tell you people
What is goin' down

Well, it sure is easy
You better be careful, yeah
Every time to touch
Every time to touch

Baby fat
That's where it's at
Baby fat
That's where it's at

All right
Hey there, little school girl
My, you sure look sweet, yes, you do
I'll give you some of my candy
If you come on home with me

Don't tell your papa
What we're gonna do, no
They'll put me in the jail house, yes they will
For the crime of lovin' you
Just for lovin' you

Baby fat
That's where it's at
Baby fat
That's where it's at

Break it down now
Baby fat

People caught upon me
But I won't take their advice
It might get me in trouble
But Lord, it sure is nice

When I look around me
And I see a sweet young thing
Well, my heart just starts to jump in
And I just have to sing
I just have to sing

Baby fat
That's where it's at
Baby fat
That's where it's at

Baby fat
That's where it's at
Baby fat
That's where it's at

Baby fat
Baby fat
Baby fat
Baby fat

8.Dixie Rock

Lyricist:Jack Virgil Jr. Hall, James Robert Hall, Maurice Richard
Hirsch

I was feelin' tired and troubled
I was feelin' down and out
I was gettin' lost in a shuffle
I was full of pain and doubt

Lord, I had to find me somethin'
I had to have a remedy
Then I heard the jukebox jumpin'
With a silly melody

I heard, dixie rock and that dixie roll
Had a real good beat, yes it did
And a whole lotta soul
Oh, yeah

Come on, play some good time music
Just the way we used to do
Any old way to choose it
You know, you just can't lose

So gimme some nasty pickin'
Some blues on a black guitar
Don't you dig that dixie lady
No matter who you are

You love dixie rock and that dixie roll
Got a real good beat, yeah
And a whole lotta soul

I love that dixie rock
It's got that steady roll
And it feels so good y'all
Hey, don't you know

But I can't tell you
What you already know
You know I can't

Such a good feeling
This thing called
Rock and Roll

So, just let it take you
Where you wanna go
Where you wanna go

If they're gettin' tired of trouble
If you're feelin' down and out
Listen to this smokin' shuffle
When we're playin' way down South

You can hear me down in Alabama
We're playin' down in Tennessee
From Georgia to Louisiana
They're dancin' to the boogie beat

Of that dixie rock
And that dixie roll
Got a real good beat
And a whole lotta soul

We love that dixie rock
And that steady roll
Yes, it feels so good
Mama, don't you know

I said, yeah
Yeah, yeah
I said, yeah

Come on
Come on
Come on

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Dixie rock

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Dixie roll

Good times, baby
Play all night, play
Yeah

Dixie rock

9.Keep on Smilin'

Lyricist:John David Anthony, Jack Virgil Jr. Hall, James Robert Hall,
Maurice Richard Hirsch, Lewis Maxwell Ross

Well, you say you've got the blues
You've got holes in both your shoes, yeah
You're feeling alone and confused
You got to keep on smilin', just keep on smilin'

Yeah, you're 'bout to go insane
'Cause your woman's playin' games
And she says that you're to blame
Just keep on smilin'

Keep on smilin' through the rain
Laughin' at the pain
Just flowin' with the changes
Till the sun comes out again

Singin' in a honkey tonk cafe
But nobody's hearin' what you play
They're too busy drinkin' anyway
You gotta keep on smilin'

Say you found a piece of land
You're gonna change from city boy
To country man, yeah
Try to build your life with your hands
And just keep on smilin', keep on smilin'

Keep on smilin' through the rain
Laughin' at the pain
Just flowin' with the changes
Till the sun comes out again

You're just hangin' out at a local bar
And you're wonderin', who the hell you are?
Are you a farmer? Are you a star?

Smile on through the rain
Laugh through all the pain
Flow on with the changes
Till the sun shines out again

Keep on smilin', smilin', laughin', laughin'
Flowin', flowin', flowin', flowin'

10.Everything That Cha Do (Will Come Back To You)

Lyricist:Maurice Richard Hirsch

Oh depression
Is got you guessing
About the thing that you do

Well, better watch what you say
Watch what you do
It's gonna come right back, right back on to you

You, you, you
Everything

11.Everybody's Stoned

Lyricist:Maurice Richard Hirsch

Everybody seems like they're so stoned today
Seems we just don't realize where we're going
And it's sad for me to say

Everybody's stoned but the feelin' is gone
I've been thinking 'bout a lot of things in this song

Guess it's just the way I feel inside that makes me sing
Sing these words I sing to you
Show my feeling and I hope it isn't true

Everybody's stoned but the feelin' is gone
I've been thinking 'bout a lot of things in this song, woa, oh

All the pictures driftin', driftin' through the years
I don't know just where it's headed
But it's taken everybody here
